Rocking Bogota

A couple of weekends ago I played a gig in Bogota and here is the short story of the night. Well as some of you know I joined a death metal band just before Christmas and recorded with this band before I left for England. The name of the band is Savage´s Torment and they play brutal death, black metal!!! So it was a challenge for me to play such technical music. The gig was in a area of Bogota called Suba not a bad area but not a good area for a lonely gringo. I roped Saff and our friends Dominique and Andy into coming and they were pretty shocked by where they were when they turned up. But got into the swing of it after a couple of beverages. The place was amazing with Axes on the walls and pictures of Megadeth, Slayer etc... The music that was played in between the bands was played at a ear spliting volume and was louder than the bands playing! There was one toilet for both men and women(well what do you expect its a bloody metal bar)and nothing but alcohol behind the bar! The place was amazing and we got to play at last at 12.15am after nearly passing out from tiredness. It went well for a first gig and I am looking forward to playing more, there is video footage but you will have to wait until I can work out how to get it off the bloody camera!!!
